Monica Hardesty, the owner of The Bead Shop, has been in business in Laramie, Wyoming for six years. She has been in the bead business for 15 years. She started at her mother’s store, The Beadery, in Norman, Oklahoma.
Monica took numerous art classes in high school and college. She has her B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Oklahoma. While working for her mother, Monica spent many hours making hand-made glass beads. She also studied silver-smithing with a Laramie artist for three years.
Monica is married with one child, an adorable little boy. Her business goes to support her family.
